Recently, Mitchell Flooring were asked to come and provide a survey of a school gymnasium hall as poor previous maintenance work was causing the seal to delaminate from the floor, effecting the playing surface.
This can happen due to a few different reasons however it was most likely caused by poor preparation prior to applying the seal. The seal must have an adequate key to ensure total adhesion. Unfortunately the only way to solve the problem is to sand the floor back to the bare timber and re-apply the sports line and seal.
In this instance Mitchell Flooring applied the following sports courts in line with Sports England:
– Badminton Court (white)
– Netball Court (red)
– Basketball Court (black)
– Tennis Court (yellow)
– Volleyball Court (green)
– 5-a-side Court (blue)
Mitchell Flooring applied 4 coats of Junkers High Performance Sports Seal in line with the manufacturers recommendations. Mitchell Flooring also provided a maintenance program with the client to ensure the correct procedures and products are used to maximize the life of the floor.
